Constant Safety Reminders for our members to be across how to keep safe whilst at the club with your family is so important.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind our members of the supervision
policies here at Club Armstrong.
As the facility is deemed a ‘low patronage pool’, there will be no dedicated lifeguard on duty at Club
Armstrong. However, when staffed, first aid treatment will be available.
Please be reminded that it is your responsibility to ensure the safety of yourself and your household members and or guest when visiting Club Armstrong.
The pool rules surrounding supervision are as follows:
- Any child 5 years and younger MUST remain within arms reach of the parent/guardian throughout
the entire duration of their visit to the pool. Any children who are not toilet trained must wear an
approved swim nappy. - Any child 6 to 10 years old MUST have a parent close by, who is actively supervising them. It is
expected that parents/guardians remain within the same area as their child. - Any child 11 to 16 years of age MUST be actively supervised and remain within the same area as
their parent/guardian throughout the entire duration of their swim. - Any person(s) over the age of 16 years old once registered, is allowed to swim unsupervised.
- Supervisors MUST be at least 18 years old.
What do we mean by active supervision?
Active supervision requires that all parents remain watching their children without any distractions,
this means that the line of sight between guardian and child is not obstructed. In other words, NO lap
swimming, NO phones, NO computers, NO tablets, NO technology, NO books or anything else that may
distract you from solely observing your child.
What are the policies around swimming nappies?
Children who are not fully toilet trained must wear an approved swim nappy.
Can we bring in pool toys?
Large rubber rings, lilo’s, large buoyant aids and mermaid fins are NOT permitted. For the comfort are our members balls are preferred to be left at home.
However, toddler swimming aids, noodles and kickboards are permitted.
Please remember – Swimming outside of the operation hours are strictly prohibited.
